Magic is coming to New York City and we finally have a better look at what that means for humans and wizards alike in the newest Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trailer.
In the new trailer, released during Wednesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, you get a much deeper look at Newt (Eddie Redmayne) and his suitcase full of beasts. When he lands in New York in the 1920s for a meeting at the Magical Congress things go south really fast when his briefcase full of magical creatures begin to escape and he has to find them, recapture them, and keep a war between wizards and humans from starting.
Magic, mayhem and muggles, oh my! Okay, technically non-wizards are called muggles in England and No-Maj in America, but muggles has a catchier ring to it, don’t you think?
Throughout the trailer we see the spectacular special effects we’ve come to expect from a J.K. Rowling project, mixed with wonder and excitement as the magic unfolds. As Newt is trying to battle the creatures and save the day, we get a better look at the No-Maj named Jacob (Dan Fogler) he teams up with and it’s both funny and entertaining.
“I don’t think I’m dreaming,” Jacob says when he witnesses the magic first hand.
“What gave it away?” Newt asks.
“I ain’t got the brains to make this up!” Jacob replies.
In addition to introducing the majority of the movie’s characters, there is a lot of action, wild creatures and of course, hauntingly magical music playing in the background gives us chills similar to that of the Harry Potter theme song.
The one thing we know for sure after watching this new trailer is that Hufflepuffs can be brave!
