Guess what day it is? No, it’s not hump day, it’s October 3, which means it’s Mean Girls’ Day!
Jonathan Bennett, who played the dreamy Aaron Samuels in the film more than 10 years ago, paid tribute to the iconic movie and one of his most recognizable lines in a hilarious Instagram video.
In the movie, Bennett’s character Aaron turns around and catches Cady (Lindsay Lohan) off guard and asks her what day it is. Cady quickly responds, “It’s October 3.” The rest is movie history.
Bennett decided to reenact his simple, yet memorable line in not one, but two videos. “I was going to ask you guys something. I was going to ask you something, now I can’t think of it. Let me think about it,” Bennett said in his first car video posted on October 3.
The second video shows the actor looking confused before he finally says, “Does anyone know what day it is?” We know what day it is. It’s Oct. 3, duh!
“There I did it. #nationalmeangirlsday #meangirls,” Bennett captioned the funny video.
The movie’s leading man wasn’t the only one to playfully talk about the movie’s famous scene. Lohan posted two photos about it on her Instagram today as well.
“One handed selfie. 😂😂😂 🙏 #whatdayisit @_lauraslater,” Lohan captioned her Snapchat-filtered photo referencing the day in her hashtag.
Lohan also posted a conversation between her and her friend when they talked about the date and the fact that it is National Mean Girls Day.
Now all we need is to see what the rest of Plastics are doing on one of our favorite holidays of the year. We’re guessing they’re all calling each other and putting one another on hold while sharing secrets about what it was like to be part of the cult classic. Okay, maybe they are just going about their day like normal, but a four-way call would be way cooler.
Happy National Mean Girls Day everyone!
