Fans of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast won’t find much to be disappointed with when the studio’s highly anticipated live action hits the big screen. At least, according to Luke Evans!

The actor who plays everyone’s favorite conceited huntsman, Gaston, recently sat down with Yahoo where he revealed that the Bill Condon-led retelling is incredibly loyal to Disney’s 1991 feature-length animation.

“[The fans] won’t just recognize it, they’ll feel like they’re reaching the animation,” promised Evans. “At certain points, the loyalty to the original 25 year old animation is staggering.”

Evans’ assurance that Condon, his team, and the cast have managed to create something that is so loyal to the original should do wonders to soothe the concerns of hardcore Beauty and the Beast fans. At the same time, Disney junkies don’t necessarily just have to take Evans’ word for it.

Back in August, co-producer Jack Morrissey took to Facebook to share a few pieces of concept art from the film, each of which show just how much inspiration they drew from the animated classic.

All in all, Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast seems to be a labor of love, and we can’t wait to see the film when it finally hits theaters next year!

Disney’s live action Beauty and the Beast premieres March 17, 2017.
