Your teenage dream is actually coming true! Shawn Mendes revealed that he is “definitely” collaborating with Niall Horan and we are freaking out.

On Wednesday night’s (Sept. 28) episode of the Late Late Show, Mendes opened up about his potential collaboration with the former One Direction singer.

The show’s host, James Corden, brought up his “favorite Irishman in the world,” who is Horan (isn’t he everyone’s favorite Irishman?), and asked if the rumors about a Mendes-Horan duet were true and if it was something that was actually going to happen.

“This is. Definitely. Ya,” Mendes said in regards to the musical collaboration on the show. “He’s awesome.”

After all of the screaming subsided on set (we were screaming a little bit too!), Mendes explained what has been standing in the the way of the collaboration happening so far — and it’s all about location.

“I’ve been talking to him for a long time but it’s annoying because you know I’ll be in London and like, ‘Niall I’m here,’ and he’ll be like, ‘just landed in LA,’ and vice versa,” Mendes told Corden. “When we get a second, I want to write with him a bunch. For sure.”

Horan just released his first solo single called, “This Town” on Thursday morning and he already has a lot of fan support, so this future collaboration could be the perfect next move for the Irish singer.

When these two do team up, we’re hoping for a lot of guitar playing and songs about love. A mix between One Direction’s swoon-worthy tunes and Mendes’ beautiful lyrics would be something we’d definitely play on repeat!

In the meantime, make sure to check out Horan’s new single here.
