Could you imagine being a fan of a TV series and then actually getting to meet the cast and star alongside them? Well, that’s exactly what happened to Sutton Foster!
Though Foster is a fantastic actress in her own right – she’s also a Tony winner, getting a role on the upcoming Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life was a dream come true for her since she was a BIG fan of the original series before she even knew there’d be a revival.
“Gilmore Girls is my favorite show of all time,” Foster said during an interview on the Today Show on Monday. “I was obsessed with it. And I worked with the creators on [ABC Family’s] Bunheads, and they created this role for me for the revival.”
So what was it like for the Younger star to transport herself into the world of Stars Hollow and the land of Lorelai Gilmore? “It was four days of like… I couldn’t believe it,” Foster told the talk show’s hosts, Kathy Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. “It was a ‘pinch-me’ moment. From [being] a fan on the couch to being in Stars Hollow.”
If only we too could show off our super fan status and get to reside in Stars Hollow for a day or two, it would be a dream come true! The first place we’d go, would definitely be Luke’s Diner for coffee, duh.
This isn’t the first time Foster opened up about her small role on the revival. She previously told People that it was almost too much to comprehend. “This is where my brain explodes: I go from super nerdy super fan to on-set talking to Lorelai Gilmore,” she told People in February. While her role hasn’t really been explained yet, we can’t wait to see Foster interact with the goddess that is Lorelai Gilmore!
Until then, you can see Foster on an all-new season of Younger on TV Land every Wednesday night, beginning September 28.
