The second trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is finally here and its chock full of revealing info.
LucasFilm and Disney released the latest trailer for the standalone Star Wars film on Good Morning America on Thursday. In it, we see that the rebellion is strong and the force is definitely with the rebels – thank goodness.
The trailer begins with a glimpse into Jyn Erso’s (Felicity Jones) past as we see a scene of her watching her father take on the Empire’s soldier after telling her that everything he does is for her. She wakes up before you see what her dad’s fate is, but what we do know is that he is key to her future and the future of the Death Star.
Next we see Jyn being broken free from a jail cell by the Alliance who needs her help. They want to know about her scientist father, Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen), who was captured by the Empire years ago and has been working on the Death Star, which they need to stop from happening.
The rest of the teaser consists of learning about the rebel forces, discovering how they got their Rogue One call sign, seeing their efforts to steal the plans of the Death Star and kicking butt as they try to succeed. “We have hope. Rebellions are built on hope,” Jyn says at one point, rallying the troops.
“Save the rebellion, save the dream!” Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker), one of the rebel’s army, who is part machine and part human, says before the trailer cuts out.
We can’t wait to see if the rebellion is successful and how they actually match up against the Empire!
