Every artist has songs in their catalog that they love and ones they dread singing — even Joe Jonas.
During a Reddit AMA interview this week, the 27-year-old singer revealed his pick for the best and worst Jonas Brothers songs, and his answer might surprise you.
“We wrote a song once called ‘Don’t Charge Me For The Crime,’ which was like the weirdest story song we ever came up with about being the getaway driver for a bank robbery,” Jonas explained in the interview. “Maybe it was a little ahead of its time, being 16 year-old Disney kids, it’s probably not the best song to be singing.”
The song may have been an odd choice for the the teen group, but it also had its positive points.
“And we got the opportunity to work with Common and he was totally into it. So, Common actually raps on the song. I don’t know how we got away with this being on an album, especially working with Disney for so many years, but it’s out there,” Jonas recalled.
So is the song a good or a bad memory for Jonas? Actually, it’s both!
“I’d say it’s probably my favorite and least favorite song, in the same right, because it’s kind of fun to listen to now, but I’m like, how…. did we get away with this?” he said.
Suddenly, we’re listening to “Don’t Charge Me For the Crime” with a whole new perspective.
