Time has just released its list of the most influential teens of 2016 and it proves that you don’t have to be an adult to make an impact on the world!
From athletes to actors, the list boasts an impressive group of names — including a number of our favorite celebs.
Between his top-selling album, Illuminate, and an upcoming world tour, it’s safe to say Shawn Mendes is absolutely killing it. The 18-year-old “Stitches” singer was one of a handful of musicians to make this year’s list and earned himself the number 19 spot.
Also included was Fifth Harmony member and Mendes’ “I Know What You Did Last Summer” collaborator, Camila Cabello, who came in at number 25. The 19-year-old is held in high regard not only for her musical talent, but also for using her platform to speak out for good causes.
Capping off this year’s list at no. 29 is none other than Kylie Jenner. Jenner may be the youngest of the Kardashian clan but it’s clear that she’s already made her mark on pop culture. The 19-year-old reality star is regarded by many as a tastemaker when it comes to beauty, and additionally boasts millions of followers across her various social media platforms.
While there were more than a few familiar names among this year’s most influential teens, we were also pleasantly surprised to see a slew of newcomers among the bunch. Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo, who won audiences over for his portrayal of Dustin on Netflix’s breakout hit of the year, earned the number 4 spot on the coveted list, meanwhile Laurie Hernandez and Simone Biles of USA’s Olympic Gymnast team came in at number 7 and number 24, respectively.
