Ben Affleck is slowly preparing for his return to the big screen as Batman, but it takes time and dedication on his part to get everything movie ready.

While promoting his current box office hit, The Accountant, Affleck sat down with IGN and shared a few details about his next Batman venture, The Batman, which he is starring in, writing and producing — because he does it all!

When asked how work is coming on The Batman, the 44-year-old actor revealed that he is currently writing it, and pointed out that you can’t rush such an important project.

“Last night I spent (time) working on the script. I’m in full-on ‘trying to get it right mode,'” Affleck told IGN. “It’s not the kind of movie that you can fail quietly at. You have to really be sure that I have something that I feel really confident about before we go forward.”

Affleck also joked about what it would take to have his Accountant co-star, Anna Kendrick, in the Marvel film. He previously said that Kendrick couldn’t be the Robin to his Batman, because he wasn’t going to have a Robin, but this time the reporter talked about the character of Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl.

“As soon as I get cast in Pitch Perfect 3 we can talk,” Affleck said, jokingly reiterating how badly he wanted to be cast in the original Pitch Perfect and play Kendrick’s character Beca.

“Unless I’m singing in a movie some point next year then…” he added before Kendrick stopped him saying, “Alright Ben!”

We know it’s all fun and games between The Accountant stars, but having Kendrick as a superhero is something we’re not joking about. Batgirl, Robin, it doesn’t matter who she plays, just make it happen Ben!
