Josh Safran is no stranger to juicy drama. As the showrunner of NBC’s hit drama Quantico, the seasoned vet takes his FBI young bloods on crazy adventures full of deception and intrigue every week. But he’s gotten some good practice executing big plot twists.

Before Quantico, Safran had a heavy hand in CW’s hit teen drama, Gossip Girl. Safran first joined the crew of the high-class high school series as a writer from 2007 to 2008 and then returned to executive produce in 2010-2012.When GG officially signed off in 2012, many super fans were itching for a spinoff or maybe even a movie sequel.

People’s Choice caught up with Safran and the cast of Quantico during the 2016 Paley Fest in NYC recently (Oct. 18) and while Safran was very stoked about the future of Alex, Ryan, Shelby and more, we wanted to know if he’d be down to revisit the drama of the Upper East Side.

"Everyone on that show is still really close," Safran told People's Choice.  "I think they have reunions all the time. I'm sure something will happen at some point but I don't know of anything."

While the show's stars (Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick) have gone on to star in both big and small screen roles, the cast that grew up together still manages to meet up from time to time and stay close. They've got the Instagram pics to prove it.

"That was a really bonded family. That doesn't end," Safran went on to say.

So while there's no onscreen reunion set up yet, there's nothing really stopping the Upper East Siders from getting together once again. It's only a matter of time.
