As if Harry Potter fans weren’t excited enough about revisiting the wizarding world in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them — now comes word that the original wizard himself will appear in the movie’s sequel.

According to Screen Rant, Harry Potter headmaster Albus Dumbledore will appear in the second installment of Fantastic Beasts , where he’ll share scenes with protagonist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). Casting is already underway to find an actor who can pull off the legendary character.

“In the second movie Dumbledore comes back,” director David Yates confirmed said during the Fantastic Beasts press junket via Screen Rant. “He’s got a couple of good scenes with Newt.”

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a spinoff of the Harry Potter books and films we all know and love, taking place before Harry Potter and his pals attended Hogwarts.

Written by J.K. Rowling, the first film in the franchise — which hits theaters later this month — is set in 1926 New York City and revolves around Newt’s attempt to recapture a number of magical creatures that escape his case.

Because the films – there are set to be five total – take place way before Harry, Hermione and Ron were born, if beloved characters do make a crossover appearance it would be as a much younger version of themselves, which means we’re going to get the chance to see a young Dumbledore, way before he was sporting his iconic, white/grey beard.

Young or old, we can’t wait to see the wise character back in the Harry Potter world!
