Monday night marks an all-new episode of Supergirl, but we can’t wait until then to get a sneak peek at the latest installment of the superhero series. We have a look at this week’s episode in the trailer below (and another bonus trailer as well) and it’s a good one.

This season, we’ve already had Superman come to town and Supergirl, played by Melissa Benoist, has been kicking major butt, and this preview continues to pull us in and leaves us wanting more.

Usually The CW series is uplifting and a bit light-hearted in comparison to other hero shows or movies, but Monday’s episode has a darker feel to it and we’re totally on board.

The teaser for “Changing” begins with Alex and Hank investigating a destroyed lab of some sort and the entire scene is dark and dreary. In fact, there are broken glasses and turned over chairs and dead bodies — lots of dead bodies.

As they look through the rummage, it’s clear that someone, or something has drained the bodies, which include the body of a wolf, which is just so creepy.

There is however one person still alive! So what is it that Supergirl and her crew are dealing with? It’s an alien parasite, which again is so creepy.

An extended promo offers a second look at Monday’s episode, including all of the steps of the parasite infection that has hit the lab and now threatens the world. You know, just another normal day in the life of Supergirl.

Step one is the infection, and it includes a glimpse at a man sticking his hand into the wolf. P

Step two is assimilation, which cannot be good for the general population. Step three is mutation, which is terrifying. Finally, step four is extermination and the potential end of the world as we know it!

The only good news is that in the second trailer Supergirl seems to be ready and willing to take on the scary creature, so we have to have faith that she’ll succeed.

Tune in to The CW at 8 p.m. on Monday to see what happens next on Supergirl!
