Netflix’s new feature is bound to help you find even more shows to fall in love with!
The online streaming platform announced on Wednesday (Dec. 7) that they’ll soon be launching preview videos on the website aimed at helping people decide if a series is worth their time.
The “specially-designed video synopses” are similar to teasers, but are instead carefully crafted to help give prospective viewers an idea of what the series is about and what kinds of characters they’ll encounter as the story progresses.
In a statement announcing the brand-new feature, Netflix said they’re hoping incorporating these new video synopses will help viewers “browse less and watch more.”
“We know we have less than 90 seconds to capture someone’s attention and get them excited about a title. This is our latest effort to continually evolve the Internet TV experience to one that provides greater choice, richer imagery, better context, and a more consumer-friendly experience,” said the streaming platform.
In the past, we’ve had to rely solely on written synopses to get a feel for shows we might be interested in streaming, but we love the idea of having carefully curated trailers to help us decide if a show is worth watching!
As amazing as the new feature sounds, Netflix users won’t have access to it right away. The online streaming platform plans to roll it out in the coming months via their app on gaming consoles, Roku devices, and smart TVs.
We’ll be looking forward to taking advantage of Netflix’s new video synopsis features as soon as they start popping up!
