On Tuesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Joshua Jackson got real about a possible Dawson’s Creek revival and it’s not looking good for Capeside fans.

The show’s host, Ellen DeGeneres, brought up the fact that there have been a LOT of revivals lately, like Fuller House and Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, so why not a Dawson’s Creek comeback?

According to Jackson, who played the totally charming and often misguided Pacey Witter, there are a few reasons why that can’t happen. The first issue is the fact that they killed off Michelle William’s character, Jen Lindley.

“She could come back as the evil twin or something,” DeGeneres replied, not taking Jackson’s excuse for an answer.

While The Affair actor was intrigued by that idea, he still couldn’t be swayed and shot down a Dawson’s Creek revival pretty quickly.

“The other thing is, it’s been a very long time, and I think, for anybody who was a fan of Dawson’s, to actually see the four of us on camera again might be a little bit shocking and kinda heartbreaking,” Jackson told DeGeneres.

“We’re not cute kids anymore. I mean, we’re holding up OK, but I think if you put the four of us now next to the four of us then, it might be a little shocking.”

DeGeneres completely disagreed, as do we, but his answer stayed the same.

Come on, the kids of Capeside could go back to the sweet, simple town for a reunion, or reunite for their kid’s birthdays or something. It could happen, just believe Pacey — uh, we mean Joshua!

Would you want to see a Dawson’s Creek revival?
