Blade Runner first hit theaters back in 1982 and the storyline is still alive and well — thank goodness.

The sequel to the first hardcore film, Blade Runner 2049, has been talked about a LOT, and now we finally have a peak at what’s coming our way next fall.

On Monday, Warner Bros. released its first teaser for the sequel and it definitely lives up to expectations.

The original film was about a blade runner who had to terminate four replicants who stole a spaceship and were invading Earth to find their creator. It was a sci-fi movie, in case you didn’t know, and it starred Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard.

Now, Ford is back and better than ever with a little help from Ryan Gosling. Yes, Gosling is in the new film and you get to see him in action throughout the trailer and it’s SO great.

“Replicants are like any other machine, they’re either a benefit of a hazard,” Ford says as Rick in the beginning of the trailer. We then see a truck with a caution message on it as a figure in a long coat walks behind the fog.

The teaser then shows the same man walking towards a ship that’s been abandoned in the desert. He continues to walk through a town covered in a red haze as Gosling’s character then enters a run-down building and hits a piano key.

“I did your job once. I was good at it,” Ford’s character says.

Gosling turns around and comes face to face with Ford’s character, who is holding a gun up in protection. “Things are different now,” Gosling replies, giving off an eerie sense of change.

All we see next is Gosling’s character walking in the streets as the release date comes across the screen.

Well, clearly this is a teaser, because it leaves us wanting more. Why are things different? How long has it really been since Rick was fighting the replicants? What’s become of the world?

Blade Runner 2049 hits theaters on October 6, 2017.
