Niall Horan’s first solo album is finally coming our way… well, almost.

A year after One Direction decided to take a break, the boys have been doing a lot of different things. Now, Horan is gearing up to release his first solo record with Capitol Records and we can’t wait to hear it.

Fans got a taste of what’s to come when the Irish singer released his first single in the fall called “This Town,” and they were instantly hooked — as were we.

According to a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the complete album, which is set to be released in summer 2017 (yes, we agree it’s too far away), will be different than the pop style albums of One Direction and will instead focus on more of a “folk-pop” sound.

Now that he’s on his own, the 23-year-old singer is ready and willing to take on all of the vocal responsibilities.

“The biggest challenge of making the album was making sure I could sing for that long,” Horan told Entertainment Weekly. “I did write the songs in my key so I didn’t try to make it too difficult for myself.”

We can’t wait to hear it all come together!
