Ben Affleck has a lot of projects in the works right now including, Live by Night and Justice League, but we’re most excited about the next Batman movie.

The 44-year-old actor is set to play Bruce Wayne/Batman in the upcoming film, The Batman, and while he hasn’t given away too much about the plot, Affleck explained to Variety recently that the movie is heading in the right direction.

“We’re on the right track with that and everything is coming together,” Affleck told Variety about the film. “We’re still finishing up a script. I’m very excited.”

Affleck is one of many great actors to step into the role of Batman over the years and although some films have turned out better than others, Affleck supports all the previous black cape, crime solving, superheroes.

“I respect all of those [Batman] movies. Christopher Nolan did an incredible job, Christian Bale did an incredible job, Tim Burton did an incredible job,” The Accountant actor told the publication. “At a certain point you have to look forward and try to believe in your own vision for it and not be looking over your shoulder the whole time. I go into that movie with a tremendous amount of respect for the people who came before me.”

We can’t wait to see what Affleck does both on and off-screen — he is the producer on the film as well — when The Batman hits theaters.

Even though we don’t have a release date yet, we are still starting out mental countdown!
