PCAs 2017: Favorite TV Show Nominees’ Greatest Episodes This Season

From dramas to comedies and everything in between, it’s safe to say television brought it’s A-game this year. It’s no wonder the Favorite TV Show category for People’s Choice Awards is chock-full of amazing series!

Now that voting is officially over, we thought it’d be nice to take a look back at all of the series lucky enough to be nominated in the category in a fun way. To celebrate each of the shows nominated, we’ve put our thinking caps on and come up with a list of our favorite episodes that each of these amazing shows have put out in the past year.

Read on to find out which one episode for The Big Bang Theory, Grey’s Anatomy, Outlander, Stranger Things, and The Walking Dead completely knocked our socks off in 2016.

The Big Bang Theory, season 10, episode 4, “The Cohabitation Experiment”
Those of us wondering if Shamy would ever take things to the next level got a bit of a taste of what it could be like in this episode where Amy (Mayim Bialik)  and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) find themselves moving in together on a trial basis after Amy’s apartment floods.

“The Cohabitation Experiment” has got everything we’ve come to know and love from The Big Bang Theory. Between Shamy treating their new living arrangement like a science experiment, and Raj’s  (Kunal Nayyar) conflict of being the only one who knows the gender of Howard and Bernadette’s baby, we found ourselves laughing loads throughout this episode!

Grey’s Anatomy, season 12, episode 9, “The Sound of Silence”
Showrunner Shonda Rhimes is well known for giving us television anxiety with the intense situations she puts our favorite doctors in on Grey’s Anatomy. Even so, nothing could have prepared us for season 12’s “The Sound of Silence,” which found Meredith brutally attacked by a patient. We’ve also got to give it up to actress Ellen Pompeo, who gave one of her most memorable performances ever during this harrowing episode, directed by actor Denzel Washington.

Outlander, season 3, episode 13, “Dragonfly in Amber”
Last season’s finale of Outlander gave us everything a good finale should: intrigue, resolution, suspense, and most importantly, it left us wanting more!

Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) had spent most of the season trying to change history, but in the finale, they finally come to grips with the fact that perhaps things were meant to pass as Claire’s always known they would. This episode may have broken our hearts with the tearful goodbye shared between Jamie and Claire, but it also gave us the hope of the reunion we’re so desperately hoping happens in season 4!

Stranger Things, season 1, episode 7, “The Bathtub”
Netflix’s Stranger Things quickly became one of our favorite new series of the year and as such, picking a favorite episode was incredibly difficult. In the end, however, we’ve got to give it up to the penultimate episode of the season. The reason we loved “The Bathtub” so much is because this is the moment when all of the pieces of the puzzle we’ve been collecting over the course of the last six episode finally start to come together.

Up until this point, the kids, the adults, and the teens have all been tracking down clues alone, but this is the first time we see them all come together as a collective unit to infiltrate the Upside Down and figure out what’s happened to Will once and for all.

The Walking Dead, season 7, episode 1, “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be”
AMC’s The Walking Dead left us on an incredibly huge cliffhanger last season, and that’s probably why all eyes were on the gritty drama when the show finally returned for season 7.

The season 6 finale may have introduced us to Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) but nothing could have prepared us for seeing him and his trusty bat Lucille in action as he took out not one, but two of our favorite characters in one episode. We’re still not over it, and that’s exactly why the season 7 opener makes our list!
