A ‘Charmed’ Reboot Is Officially In The Works

Another day another reboot — and we’re very happy about this one!

On Thursday, Variety reported that The CW is looking to bring Charmed back to TV and it’s great news for all you witch fans.

Charmed was originally on The WB (which is now The CW) for eight seasons beginning in 1998 and ending in 2006. It revolved around the Charmed sisters, Piper (Holly Marie Combs), Phoebe (Alyssa Milano), Paige (Rose McGowan) and originally Prue (Shannen Doherty).

These sassy sisters used the “power of three” and their witch skills to fight off any and all evil in the world from their San Francisco home.

According to the publication, CBS Television Studios is behind the Charmed revival and has currently given the director and writer a script order commitment. This is really great news for all CW fans and anyone who was heartbroken when Charmed went off the air.

The only other information that The CW released was that the show will be a re-imagining of the original series — but this time, set in 1976.

Though it still remains to be seen which, if any, of the original actresses will be making a cameo, former star Holly Marie Combs took to Twitter shortly after the news broke to write, “we wish them well,” presumably referring to the revival.

With so much recent revival success of other hit ‘90s and early ‘00s shows, we are pretty sure this will be a hit as well!

What do you think? Are you excited for a Charmed revival?
