Mark your calendars, Harmonizers! Fifth Harmony just booked their first gig as a quartet — and it’s a big one.
The girl group will be performing live at the People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday, Jan. 18 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
The performance will mark the first time members Ally Brooke Hernandez, Dinah Jane Hansen, Lauren Jauregui and Normani Kordei take the stage since Camila Cabello’s exit from the group in December 2016.
The “Work from Home” singers can expect to have all eyes on them on the big night — especially because they’re also nominated for “Favorite Group” — a category which they won in 2016.
Last month, Fifth Harmony surprised fans by announcing that longtime member Cabello had decided to depart the group. In a statement posted via Instagram, Fifth Harmony assured fans that they would be moving on with the four remaining members.
“You Harmonizers have been there with us since the beginning, you’ve supported us, you’ve rejoiced and cried with us, you’ve grown with us, and with your love and support, we will continue on,” Fifth Harmony wrote on Instagram at the time. “That being said, we are excited to announce that we will be moving forward with the four of us — Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui for our fans. We are four, strong committed women who will continue with Fifth Harmony as well as our solo endeavors.”
The girls wrapped up by saying that they’re “excited” for the future. And they’ve certainly got reason to be.
In addition to their PCA performance, Fifth Harmony announced on Tuesday (Jan. 9), that they will be releasing new material this year. The group’s sophomore album, 7/27, dropped in May of 2016, and resulted in the hit singles, “Work from Home,” All In My Head (Flex),” and “That’s My Girl.”
Hosted by The Great Indoors star Joel McHale, People’s Choice Awards 2017 will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT) on CBS. Tune in to see if your favorites get to take home a trophy!
