The iconic actor was voted as Favorite Dramatic Movie Actor at People’s Choice Awards 2017 for his amazing performance in Sully.

Hanks was on hand at the Microsoft Theater to accept his award in person and gave a heartfelt speech where he talked about how humbling it was to know that people care enough to go out and see his films.

“You know you make movies and you winder if people are going to care, if people are going to see them. If it’s going to matter to anybody,” said Hanks. “This is a special honor. I’ve been doing this for a long time. I love my job, and I leave little bits and pieces of my existence on the screen every time.”

Hanks capped things off by saying that he hopes his legacy in film lives on long after he’s gone.

“I hope further down the line, [my films] will continue to mean something for folks who search them out,” said Hanks.

Given the many iconic roles Hanks has portrayed over the years, we’re sure he’s got nothing to worry about when it comes to his legacy living on for years to come!
