You might be seeing Zoey Johnson away at college, or maybe she’ll be commuting from home. Even Yara Shahidi, who plays Zoey, isn’t sure what’s next for her Black-ish character.

While attending People’s Choice Awards 2017, Shahidi gave us a little bit of news in regards to her character’s journey to college and what’s going to happen next, but even she is a little in the dark.

The good news is that Shahidi is confident that her character will still be appearing in some episodes, when she hits the college years, but how much is still up in the air.

“We’ll find out,” Shahidi told Nuzhat Naoreen and Entertainment Tonight’s Denny Directo on the PCAs red carpet about Zoey’s college transition.

The 16-year-old actress might play the soon-to-be college daughter of Andre “Dre” Johnson and Rainbow Johnson, but she doesn’t have all the answer… at least not yet.

“I don’t know. I mean luckily, they know how important education is to me so whatever happens I feel like it’ll be a nice transition, she explained. “Of course she’s always going to be a part of the Johnson family.”

With all the new and exciting storylines on Black-ish, Shahidi feels like she’ll definitely be around, because they are one big, happy, crazy, fun family.

“There’s a new baby coming, all sorts of stuff is happening in our household,” the actress said. “There’s no way Zoey is going to disappear.”

Ah, thank goodness! Black-ish without Zoey would just not be the same!

What do you think should happen after Zoey finds out what colleges she gets accepted into?

Black-ish airs Wednesdays on ABC.
