Newt Shows Hogwarts Pride In New ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ Deleted Scene

We are SO happy that there is more from the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them world in the way of deleted scenes.

On Sunday (Jan. 29), as a part of the Harry Potter celebration, a new deleted scene from the 2016 film was released on Facebook and it’s so wonderful.

Before you watch the clip, here’s a little background.

We all know that the Harry Potter world is full of school spirit, especially in the case of the Twiwizard Tournament, in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

In Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them there is also a lot of spirit when it comes to Ilvermorny, which is North America’s version of Hogwarts located in Massachusetts. Sure, it’s not exactly Hogwarts, but people do love their magic and cheering on their school there as well.

The deleted scene focuses on this aspect, and reveals the Ilvermorny’s school song. You see Tina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston) and her sister, Queenie (Alison Sudol) talking about the school they attended and then singing their song.

As we all know, Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) didn’t go to an American school, he went to Hogwarts — (in the clip, he even tells Tina that Hogwarts is “the best wizarding school.”). Therefore he doesn’t sing along, but just thinking about the Hogwarts song, “Hoggy Warty Hogwarts,” makes us laugh.

Maybe he will show off his singing chops in a real scene in one of the many Fantastic Beasts films that are yet to come.
