‘The Office’ Fans Rejoice After Chili’s Lifts 11-Year Ban On Pam Halpert

The Office brought us many a memorable moment, but it’s safe to say that one of the most iconic occurred right at the beginning of the season.

We’re talking of course about the annual Dundee Awards of season 1, which that year, took place at the local Chili’s. As fans of the series know all too well, amidst Michael’s various karaoke performances, and the presenting of awards like “Hottest in the Office,” it’s safe to say Pam didn’t have the best night.

Reeling from a fight she’d just had with her boyfriend, Pam ended up having one too many Chili’s margaritas, and was subsequently kicked out of the family establishment, and banished from the restaurant chain for life…or so she thought at the time.

Thanks to actress Jenna Fishcer, who played Pam on the popular sit-com, it looks like Chili’s has officially reconsidered their lifetime ban of Pam Halpert.

Fischer recently found herself in front of a Chili’s and just couldn’t resist taking to Twitter to post a selfie of herself contemplating her next move.

“Should I try to go in?” tweeted Fischer on Monday (Feb. 6).

Shortly after, Chili’s decided to weigh in on the matter in a huge way. The company took to their company website to issue a decree stating that they’d decided to lift their permanent ban on Pam Halpert.

“Effective immediately, Chili’s Grill & Bar has removed the longstanding ban on a Scranton, Pennsylvania woman who allegedly caused a disturbance during a company awards party held at Chili’s near the Pennsylvania town of Scranton,” wrote the company.

The decree also featured an official statement from Chili’s president Kelli Valde who said, “Pam is an inspiration to many and we welcome her with open arms.”

We’re sure wherever Pam Halpert is, she’ll be happy to hear that she won’t have to steer clear of Chili’s anymore!
