Since leaving Fifth Harmony for a solo career in December, all eyes have been on Camila Cabello.
The 19-year-old singer opened up to Seventeen as their March/April cover star about walking away from the girl group. In the interview, Cabello said she’s ready to focus on her solo career and not the past.
“Fifth Harmony wasn’t the maximum expression of me individually,” Cabello told Seventeen. “My fans are really going to know me from the music I’m writing.”
The singer explained that she wants to make sure her fans know what she feels and how she thinks through her songs and lyrics.
“My goal is to be brave and open up my soul,” she explained.
Despite the fact that she in no longer a part of Fifth Harmony, Cabello wishes her former bandmates nothing but the best in the future.
“I’ll continue to wish them all the best, and I’m happy they are continuing their journey as Fifth Harmony,” she said. “I’m also looking forward to hearing new music from the group and their solo endeavors.”
What a positive and sweet message, Camilla!
While we do miss Fifth Harmony actually being five fierce ladies, we’re excited to see what Cabello does as a solo artist and what the band does with the four remaining ladies.
We can’t wait to rock out to new music… hopefully very soon.
