Fans championing around a Black Widow movie shouldn’t lose out hope that it’ll never get made. In fact, actress Scarlett Johansson recently revealed that she’s still very interested in making it a reality — despite the fact that there’s one very large hurdle in the way.

The actress recently sat down with Total Film Magazine where she revealed that making the Black Widow film fans so desperately want all comes down to timing.

“We’re creatively really compatible,” Johansson told the magazine according to ComicBookMovie.com. “I think we both agree that the character is right for a standalone, it’s just a case of timing at this point for both Marvel and myself.”

Johansson then went on to say that the biggest obstacle in the way of getting a Black Widow film made comes down to Marvel Studios’ schedule, and her own prior commitments. With that in mind, the actress would only be interested in pursuing such a film if she knew she could give it her full attention.

“If I did it, I would dedicate myself completely to making it amazing,” continued Johansson. “It would have to be the best version that movie could possibly be. Otherwise, I would never do it.”

Despite the fact that we might have to wait years before we hear official word of a Black Widow movie getting the green light, it’s exciting to know that Johansson is just as passionate about the idea as the fans are.
