Lindsay Lohan wants to play Ariel in a The Little Mermaid remake, and we’re so on board with the idea.

With all of the recent Disney remakes and live-action films in the works, the most recent being Beauty and the Beast, which premieres in March, a Little Mermaid reboot is a great idea.

In fact, in November Lin-Manuel Miranda told Vulture that he was in “super early talks” with the production company on all-thing Little Mermaid, and we definitely hope it comes to fruition.

Now, Lohan is getting in on the idea via social media and throwing her name into the ring to play the coveted role of our favorite red-haired mermaid.

“I will sing again, as #ariel #thelittlemermaid,” Lohan captioned a side-by-side photo of her and Ariel on Saturday. “@disney approve that #billcondon directs it along with my sister @alianamusic singing the theme song for the soundtrack. Also @kgrahamsfb plays Ursula, simply because she is the best. Take one. @disneystudios,” she added referring to a CrossFit trainer for Ursula.

She later re-captioned the photo writing, “#thelittlemermaid.”

Okay, so it’s not like Lohan is actually going to play Ariel, but she does look like the mermaid we all grew up watching.

Plus, she has a history with Disney and wants the part. We say the studio at least gives her an audition, if the movie actually goes into production!

Now if only we could hear her voice now to see if she still has the singing chops to pull off Ariel’s beautiful singing parts.
