Julia Roberts might be our hero for her 2001 speech.
After Adam Sandler announced that Roberts had won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Motion Picture Actress, Roberts took her time on stage.
She might’ve been told to wrap up, but she definitely did not listen and it makes us love her even more.
“Thank you so much…. How’s my hair, I’m sort of worried about my hair. Thank you,” Roberts said when she first started her acceptance speech.
She then talked about Erin Brockovich and how wonderful it was to be a part of such a phenomenal movie.
“I loved making this movie, Erin Brockovich so much,” she said. “I just want to thank Steven Soderbergh, who directed this movie.”
Roberts was clearly so honored to have won that it took her a while to really get started with her speech, but she didn’t let anything boot her off that stage.
“And already I see ‘please wrap up,’ and not a chance,” she said before continuing her thank-yous. “I need to thank Albert Finney and Aaron Eckhart and all the kids that played my children, there were many.”
Next up, her wonderful family and friends, and of course the people!
“And my family and Sam, and all the people that love and support me, Richard Dean, Bonnie Clevering, Francis Vega, and Joe Roth for always being such and great date for me and le gente, the people,” she concluded. “Thank you.”
LOL, we can’t help but laugh at this rushed, yet wonderful speech.
