Emma Stone is a fierce and very successful actress, and according to her, it’s because she has always remained true to herself.

At the 2013 People’s Choice Awards, Stone won both Favorite Movie Actress and Favorite Comedic Movie Actress and was very overwhelmed by all the love.

“You will literally make me cry, because I get overly emotional,” she said after making her way to the stage.

Before getting to her words of wisdom, she talked about how she ended up in Hollywood and how blessed she was to win.

“This is ridiculous. Thank you so much, you have no idea. Sorry, I’m nervous, I get chocked up,” she explained. “I moved to LA eight years ago this week, with my mom, who is right there, and it is so insane to be standing up here right now, it’s hard to describe to you.”

As for her advice to her fans, it’s all about being you and no one else.

“I just want to say that the biggest thing I have learned, and it’s counting me down and I didn’t know I only had like five seconds, I’ve learned that you have to stay true to yourself from all these amazing people that’ve had the opportunity to work with thus far,” she said trying to speed up.

If you stay to true yourself, Stone believes you can do anything, and we definitely agree.

“You have to stay true to yourself and don’t be afraid even though people might say what you’re doing isn’t cool or isn’t right,” she said. “I promise you, you will not regret it if you stay true to who you are and what you love to do, because there is no other reason why I am up here today.”

Before leaving with her two trophies, she gave one last shout out to her fans, because she really does love them.

“Thank you so much for this, this means the world to me you guys are amazing. Keep it up. We’re all in this together,” she concluded.

If being yourself is what got Stone to being a Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee, then we are definitely going to listen to her advice!
