If there’s one thing Cole Sprouse doesn’t take for granted, it’s his days as a Disney Channel star.

In fact, in a recent interview with The Last magazine, the Riverdale actor opened up about the time he spent starring on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, saying that it taught him a lot about the importance of working hard.

“The show gave me a profound work ethic,” said Sprouse of the eight years he spent starring on both the original show and its spinoff, Suite Life On Deck. “I never missed a day of work in the eight years I was there, and it really taught me to push myself and drive myself.”

Learning to have discipline and a good work ethic are traits that can apply to a number of different scenarios in life. And while we’re sure they helped Sprouse loads while he was studying hard at New York University, we’re also sure that those valuable traits have had a huge hand in the way Sprouse conducts himself on set in the various projects he’s had after The Suite Life.

Given that other Disney Channel Stars have been vocal about some of the things they didn’t like about working with the company when they were younger, it’s a breath of fresh air to hear from someone like Sprouse who’s been vocal about his great experience!

And of course, we’re incredibly excited that the young star is back on television regularly with The CW’s Riverdale where he plays Jughead Jones every week!

Riverdale airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on The CW.
