Mulan fans can breathe a bit easier today, because the director for Disney’s upcoming live action adaptation has just confirmed that the new film will feature some music.

Concerns started swirling among Mulan fans just last month after director Niki Caro revealed in an interview with Moviefone that the upcoming adaptation wouldn’t feature any of the animated film’s iconic tunes. Now, it seems as though Caro could be changing her tune on the original plan to nix songs like “I’ll Make A Man Out Of You,” “Reflection” and more from the upcoming film.

Caro recently sat down with The Hollywood Reporter where she revealed that music will play some kind of a role in her adaptation.

“The live-action is based on that inspirational Chinese ballad and on the animated Disney classic,” Caro told THR. “We’re still exploring the role that music’s going to play in it, but for sure there will be music.”

We’ll still have to wait to see if we’ll get to see some of our favorite Mulan songs brought to life on the big screen, but even so, Caro’s updated statement gives us a bit more hope than we had before.
