Anne of Green Gables is coming to life once more, and we have the new trailer to prove it!
On Tuesday (April 4), Netflix released the trailer for Anne, the latest adaptation of L.M. Montgomery’s beloved book series, Anne of Green Gables.
Starring Amybeth McNulty as Anne Shirley, the sneak peek gives fans their first look at Netflix’s take on the iconic novel.
The trailer begins with Anne taking the train to her new home with her foster parents Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert. From the beginning, it’s clear that Anne doesn’t fit in — especially because her foster parents were expecting a boy.
“Girls can do anything a boy can do, and more,” Anne says and we totally agree.
Throughout the teaser you see Anne go to school, try to fit in, while remaining as unique and lovable as ever.
She meets Gilbert (her frenemy), who pulls her hair, Diana, who eventually becomes her BFF. She even reveals that she loves to make up stories, all of which are fantasies we’d love to live in.
“Isn’t it wonderful every day can be an adventure?” she asks as the trailer comes to an end. Anne’s positive attitude and imagination are contagious and we can’t wait to watch more.
Anne will be available on Netflix on May 12, 2017.
