Lea Michele may be gearing up to release her second solo album, but that doesn’t mean the singer is ready to leave Glee in the past.

In fact, in a new interview with EW, Michele opened up about why it’s so important for her to carry Glee with her even as she embarks on this new chapter of her life.

Michele, who says she always makes it a point to include Glee songs in her sets whenever she performs live, says she does so because she’s so grateful to the constant support she still gets from Gleeks to this day.

“I’ve been so grateful to continue to work [after Glee], and have the support of my great fanbase, so for me, I want to just continue to let people know where I’m at and how grateful I am to be where I am right now,” explained Michele. “I will 100 percent hold onto Glee and everything that it brought into my life, and that’s why I include the Glee songs in my concert because I’m so proud of it and I’m so grateful for it.”

It’s nice to know that Michele still chooses to honor her roots and the millions of fans who’ve still got her back to this day. And as excited as we are to hear that we’ll still be able to hear Michele perform some of our favorite Glee hits, we’re even more excited to experience the new tracks that comprise her upcoming album.

Lea Michele’s sophomore album, Places, is set to debut sometime in 2017.
