Moviegoers far-and-wide have officially proved just how much they loved Beauty and the Beast. In fact, Disney’s latest live-action adaptation just crossed an incredibly huge milestone at the box office.
According to Just Jared, Beauty and the Beast has officially made over $1 billion at the global box office. The truly impressive feat makes Disney’s film 2017’s highest grossing movie worldwide to date, but that’s not all.
Beauty and the Beast’s tremendous box office numbers have also officially earned it the title of highest grossing live-action movie musical of all time.
It’s not hard to see why movie fans have flocked to Disney’s latest film. On top of bringing to life one of the company’s most beloved animated classics, Beauty and the Beast also boasts an impressive cast, which includes the likes of Emma Watson, Luke Evans, Josh Gad, and Emma Thompson.
As tremendous as the success of the film has been, we’re sure Disney is already looking ahead to how they can make the rest of their upcoming live action adaptations stand out among the bunch.
We’ll be incredibly excited to see if the likes of Mulan, The Lion King, and more end up making as big of a splash at the box office as Beauty and the Beast has when they premiere over the course of the next few years.
