Ever since Descendants premiered in 2015, we’ve been waiting to find out when the sequel will debut — and now we finally know!

On Tuesday (April 25), the network revealed that the Disney Channel movie will premiere this summer — July 21 — and it’s going to be on more than one channel.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the follow-up film will air on Disney Channel, ABC, Disney XD, Freeform and Lifetime. Pretty awesome, right?

This is great news, because now fans of all of the Disney villains’ children can actually watch the movie on whichever channel best works for them. The more channels, the more viewers… ideally.

As for what you can expect from the sequel, there will be some old and new faces. Mal (Maleficent’s daughter), Evie (daughter of the Evil Queen), Carlos (Cruella de Vil’s son), and Jay (son of Jafar), will all be coming back in Descendants 2.

This time around they will be trying to figure out where they belong in Auradon. Throughout the movie, we’ll see that Mal — played by Dove Cameron — isn’t so sure being royal is the path she wants to continue down.

She will return to the Ilse of Lost in order to channel her rotten side, but quickly sees that there is a new royal in charge… Uma (Ursula’s daughter). This is NOT going to fly with Mal, and we can’t wait to see what happens.

PS: Captain Hook’s son Harry and Gaston’s son Gil are part of a pirate gang helping Uma to take over the island and eventually free the villains forever. It’s going to be a good movie, can’t you tell?

Descendants 2 premieres on the Disney Channel on July 21, 2017.
