The wait is finally over, Kelly Ripa has finally found her Live! permanent co-host! So, who will be sitting next to the talk show host every morning? Ryan Seacrest!

Seacrest joined Ripa on the show Monday morning (May 1), where she officially revealed him to be her new Live! counterpart.

“Today the next chapter of the Live! story is about to be written. Today my new co-host will officially be joining me on Live, and today is a very good day,” Ripa said via Vanity Fair before bringing Seacrest out.

Meanwhile, Seacrest said he was “so excited” to join Live!.

“We’ve known each other for a long time,” Seacrest said. “When we found out this was going to happen, we were told to keep it a secret. And we’re not great at that.”

It’s already Facebook official as well, with a new logo and profile picture. Pretty exciting, right?

While Ripa and Seacrest may done a decent job keeping the news under wraps, CNN broke the news that Seacrest had been tapped to take on hosting duties early Monday — before Live’s airing.

Seacrest took to Twitter to react to the news shortly after the news was announced on Live!.

“So excited to join this show!!” Seacrest wrote. “Kelly Ripa crushes every morning…one of my favorite people ever.”

Ripa first teased the new co-host announcement on social media on Sunday (April 30), leaving fans all over America had to wait until Monday morning to see who was going to fill that co-host seat.

“We’re going to need a bigger mug. #TuneInToLive #BigAnnouncement #LiveKellyCohost,” she wrote alongside a picture of her holding a Live With Kelly mug that had a giant question mark on it.

It’s been nearly a year since Ripa has had a co-host, after Michael Strahan announced he was leaving and heading to Good Morning America.

Since the former athlete left the talk show, Ripa has gone it alone at times, and had an array of different guests as her fill-in co-host. Everyone from Seacrest (who was on five times) to Jerry O’Connell and Fred Savage have made their appearances on the show over the past year.

It looks like May is going to mean a BIG change for the show, now that it’s Live With Kelly and Ryan!

What do you think about Ripa’s new co-host choice? Can Seacrest take all of his prior hosting gig knowledge and become a hit morning talk show man?
