We Recast ‘Harry Potter’ With A New Generation Of Actors

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint may have made for the perfect Harry, Ron and Hermione, but fans of Harry Potter know that there’s always a chance the franchise could be rebooted down the line.

While we’re not expecting Harry Potter to get the remake treatment anytime soon, we couldn’t help but realize that we’ve got a pretty great contender for Hermione on our hands in Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown. In fact, it was the actress’ fated run-in with none other than Emma Watson herself at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards that really helped us connect the dots!

With that in mind, we thought it’d be pretty fun to toss out a few more suggestions with regards to who we might like to see cast as some of our favorite Hogwarts students. Check out who we came up with to play Harry, Ron, and more below!

Jacob Tremblay as Harry Potter

Yes, we know Tremblay isn’t British, but after his outstanding performance in Room, we’re positively convinced he could pull off the range of emotions (and the accent) needed to play The Boy Who Lived!

Millie Bobby Brown as Hermione Granger

There’s no denying that Brown delivered quite the powerful performance as the mysterious Eleven on Stranger Things — add in her naturally spunky attitude (which we’ve seen tons of on social media) and we’re all but convinced that she’d make for a pretty great Hermione if Harry Potter were to get remade today.

Miles Brown as Ron Weasley

Our favorite thing about Ron is his ability to diffuse any situation with a bit of well placed sarcastic humor. Not only does the Black-ish star have incredibly great comedic timing, but also we feel as though he’d play off Tremblay and Brown extremely well!

Lonnie Chavis as Neville Longbottom

Just like young Randall in This Is Us, Neville is truly a character that grows into himself as the years go by. We’d love to see Chavis tackle the role of Harry’s loyal fellow Gryffindor!

Quevenzhane Wallis as Ginny Weasley

It takes a strong girl to stand up to the likes of six older brothers, but we’re sure Wallis would be up to the task! Her work on films ranging from Beasts of the Southern Wild to Annie proves Wallis can pretty much hold her own in any situation, and that’s exactly the kind of actress we’d love to see assume the role of Ginny.

Neel Sethi as Seamus Finnigan

It’s safe to say the Gryffindor common room would be pretty boring without the likes of Seamus, and something tells us Neel Sethi would to a great job bringing him to life. Similar to his character Mowgli in The Jungle Book, Seamus can be a bit hardheaded— especially when he’s determined to make something work— and we can totally see Sethi playing that angle up!

Ian Chen as Dean Thomas

Like Harry and Ron, Dean and Seamus are the best of friends. In Fresh Off The Boat, Chen’s Evan Huang is always willing to go with the flow, whether that means making the weekly Costco run with mom, or helping dad make a valid point at the Homeowner’s Meeting. Because of that, we feel as though he’d make for the perfect partner in crime to Sethi’s Seamus.

Tenzing Norgay Trainor as Draco Malfoy

The Disney Channel’s Liv and Maddie had its fair share of memorable characters, but it’s safe to say it was always fun to see what Trainor’s Parker was up to. Like Draco, Parker was always up to something on the series, and we think it’d be fun to see what Trainor could do with a slightly darker character like Malfoy.
