Great news for all you Originals fans, the vampire series is coming back for season 5!

On Thursday (May 11), when a LOT of networks were announcing series cancelations, including NBC’s Timeless and FOX’s Sleepy Hollow, The CW gave us some good news by announcing not one, but two series pickups.

Both The Originals and iZombie are getting another season and we couldn’t be happier!

After having to say goodbye to The Vampire Diaries this spring, we weren’t ready to bid farewell to its spinoff series, and now we don’t have to.

With season 4 still airing and season 5 on the books, fans of Klaus (Joseph Morgan, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) can breathe easy…at least for another TV season.

“Always and Forever ;),” Joseph Morgan (aka Klaus) tweeted after the news was announced, and it just makes is SO much more excited for more of this wonderful show.

The show’s current showrunner Michael Narducci thanked fans for their support after the show was picked up, writing, “Thank you #CW and thanks especially to the amazing fans.”

Series creator Julie Plec also gave fans a shout-out.

“Dear friends, #TheOriginals is a go for season 5. Thank you for your devotion — this season is for you,” Plec tweeted after the news was made official.

Now that we don’t have to panic about cancellation possibilities, let’s focus on the fact that Plec says next season is for the fans. What do you want to see next season?

The Originals airs on Fridays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
