Harry Potter fans, your summer reading list is about to get a little lengthier for the best possible reason: J.K. Rowling is starting Harry Potter book club.
On Friday (May 5), Pottermore revealed that Rowling is launching The Wizarding World Book Club in June in honor of the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, which debuted in June 1997 in the UK.
The Wizarding World Book Club will “aim to surprise and delight those who have never read a Harry Potter book, as well as returning readers who want to join the conversations,” Pottermore explains.
The club also strives to “create a global community of Harry Potter readers who are communicating with each other as they are reading the same boo, at the same time.”
Sounds right up our (Diagon) alley wouldn’t you say?
There will also be new articles for fans to read, ways to track their progress and gain rewards for doing so. Basically it is the ultimate way to read or re-read all of the Harry Potter books and be an active participant at the same time.
You can check out the official Twitter account @WWBookClub for more information. Oh, and always remember, if Hermione Granger would do it, you probably should too!
