The day has finally come, Harry Styles’ first solo album is here! Now that Styles’ full album — called Harry Styles — is available to listen to, we can’t help but have a LOT of questions.
For example, what will Styles’ next music video look like? Will he add more tour dates? Will the members of One Direction join him on stage? How many times can we listen to this album on repeat without getting bored?
While these are all valid questions, we’re currently focusing on how Styles was able to achieve such an amazing sound without other people influencing him.
In an interview with PopSugar Australia, the 23-year-old singer revealed that in order to get his sound to be what he wanted he went to a secluded place so no one could really mess with his unique vision.
When asked if people did influence this album and his choices, Styles admitted that his choice of location helped make that a non-issue.
“Not really no, I think that was kind of part of the reason why I wrote most of the album in Jamaica. I think that was part of the reason why I wanted to get out of the city,” Styles told PopSugar Australia. “I didn’t want any distractions or anyone else influencing it. I was really interested to see what came out if I was writing my album. So not too much, no.”
Clearly, going to Jamaica was a great idea, because this album is the perfect representation of Styles’ solo vision.
The British singer also revealed that the entire process of releasing solo music has been rewarding, and you can tell when you listen to each track.
“It’s been very exciting, it’s been a lot of fun. I felt very lucky to be in music the whole time I was making this album. I’m looking forward to putting it out and people listening to it. I can’t complain, I feel very happy,” he said.
If you need us we will be listening to Harry Styles on repeat for the rest of the day, courtesy of Styles and his Jamaican getaway!
