When it comes to teen dramas, Dawson’s Creek will always be one of our favorites. Though cast members like Katie Holmes and James Van Der Beek have stated in the past that they wouldn’t be interested in coming back to the Creek for a revival, we wouldn’t be surprised if Hollywood decided to give the series the remake treatment one day.
Check out our picks for who we’d like to see cast in a Dawson’s Creek remake below!
Peyton Meyer as Dawson Leery
When it comes to casting a potential Dawson’s Creek revival, there’s no character quite as important as Dawson Leery. After all, the show is named after him. So who should take on the pivotal role? We’ve got our sights set on former Girl Meets World star Peyton Meyer. After three seasons of watching him play a character who wears his heart on his sleeve as Lucas Friar on GMW, we’ve got no doubt that Meyer has what it takes to bring Dawson’s vulnerability to life for a new generation.
Cole Sprouse as Pacey Witter
Cole Sprouse has been keeping us on our toes all season long as Jughead Jones on Riverdale. In fact, Sprouse has been doing such a good job of playing the misfit that we’re convinced he’s got what it takes to bring someone like Pacey Witter to life. Though Pacey is very much the jokester, like Jughead, his grim childhood means that he’s got a lot of pent-up sadness lurking underneath. Given what we’ve seen of Sprouse as an actor, we definitely think he could pull off a performance that would allow audiences to see the multi-faceted aspects of Pacey as a character.
Victoria Justice as Joey Potter
At her core, there’s no denying that Joey Potter is the quintessential girl next door — even if she also happens to be the girl from the wrong side of the creek. Victoria Justice has already proven that she can nail the girl-next-door persona, but we also think she’d be able to pull off some of the other aspects of Joey’s personality, like the frustration she feels over trying to figure out her place in the world.
Sabrina Carpenter as Jen Lindley
Another Girl Meets World alum we’d love to see take part in a potential DC remake would be none other than Sabrina Carpenter. Like her GMW character, Jen was a bit misunderstood when she was first introduced into the series. Others may have wanted to pin Jen as The Bad Girl, but it was clear from the get-go that Jen saw moving in with her grandmother as an opportunity to turn over a new leaf. While Maya was often the comic relief of GMW, Carpenter proved many times throughout the three seasons that she can hold her own when it comes to emotionally charged scenes, which is incredibly important when it comes to doing Jen’s story arc justice.
