When it comes to sitcoms, there’s no denying Friends is one of the most iconic ones around.
Though the series wrapped things up nicely over a decade ago, fans are still hoping to get more Friends one day. Unfortunately, the odds the NBC comedy getting the revival treatment are slim to none.
While former cast members like Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow have made good cases as to why a revival wouldn’t work for the show, that hasn’t stopped us from imagining what Friends for a whole new generation might look like.
In fact, we’ve even got the perfect actors in minds for the roles of Rachel (Aniston), Ross (David Schwimmer), Monica (Courteney Cox), Chandler (Matthew Perry), Joey (Matt LeBlanc), and Phoebe (Kudrow).
Check our casting picks for a Friends reboot below!
Priyanka Chopra as Rachel Green
Priyanka Chopra’s been doing a great job of kicking butt on Quantico every week, but it’s high time the Bollywood superstar showed everyone stateside her comedy chops. There’s no denying Chopra would have some big shoes to fill in assuming the role of Rachel Green, but we think she’s got what it takes to make the iconic Friends character her own!
Adam Driver as Ross Geller
Between his role on Girls and his villainous turn as Kylo Ren in Star Wars, we’re convinced there isn’t a character that Adam Driver can’t tackle. We’re sure Driver would put his own original spin on Ross, which would make for an interesting dynamic in a potential reboot!
Sophia Bush as Monica Geller
We’ve got to give it up to Sophia Bush’s Chicago PD co-star Jesse Lee Soffer for planting the seed on this one. Ever since he suggested Bush for Monica, we can’t stop thinking about how perfect she’d be as Rachel’s other half! Plus, we’d kill to see Chopra and Bush team up in anything, so casting them as besties is a win-win as far as we’re concerned!
Jake Johnson as Chandler Bing
With New Girl coming to a close, it’d be great to see Jake Johnson get cast in another sitcom, and what better than our dream Friends reboot? The actor’s knack for perfect delivery when it comes to dry humor has got us thinking he’d make for an absolutely hilarious (and very sarcastic) Chandler!
Aziz Ansari as Joey Tribbiani
Between his sitcom experience and perfect comedic timing, we can think of no better actor to capture the lovable dimwittedness of Joey Tribbani than Aziz Ansari. As an added bonus, we’ve got a feeling the actor would deliver a pretty effective “how you doin’?”
Beth Behrs as Phoebe Buffay
Beth Behrs has already proven she’s got a penchant for comedy thanks to 2 Broke Girls, but what you might not know is that she’s also a pretty great singer! We could totally see her as Phoebe Buffay, strumming along to “Smelly Cat” at Central Perk as patrons look on in awe.
