After five seasons of flashbacks on Arrow, you might’ve thought we were done with glimpses of Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) past, but you’d be wrong.

During an interview with Access Hollywood,  Arrow boss Marc Guggenheim confirmed that the final blast from the past has been set — but fans will have to wait until the season 6 to see it.

“I’m so excited. We were in the room yesterday and we were going through the flashbacks and we got to the final beat of the flashbacks and I turned to the writers and was like, ‘Oh my God, we’re done,’” executive producer Marc Guggenheim told Access Hollywood about the end of flashbacks on the series. “Obviously it’s not written, it’s not produced but in terms of breaking the story, we’re done. I’m relieved.

Guggenhein will be getting the flashback out of the way early next season — according to the executive producer, the last retrospective will be featured in the season 6 premiere.

As for whether the flashback will take fans back to the island? The Arrow boss told Access Hollywood,  “If you take me literally at my word, yes, back to the island.”
