It seems like every day we are talking about another TV reboot and honestly we’re not mad about it. The most recent series to throw its name into the TV revival ring is Sister, Sister, and all we can say is, yay!
During an interview with Nylon, Tia Mowry, who starred on Sister, Sister with her real-life twin, Tamera Mowry, revealed the two ladies are all about the nostalgia trend. In fact, they are currently looking to bring the 1994 sitcom back to life, if a network will take them.
“We’re looking, right now, for a producer and a writer, someone who can kind of be a leader of the pack in regards to running the show,” Mowry told Nylon about their hopes for a reboot.
Sister, Sister was a major hit for The WB back in the mid to late ‘90s, and it revolved around the twin sisters adjusting to life together with their single parents. It was SO Parent Trap and we loved it.
Despite the fact that the two leading ladies are on board for a new Sister, Sister show, Mowry admitted that it’s not as easy to get back into the reboot game as she thought it would be.
“I thought people would kind of be jumping on it, but it’s a lot harder than my sister and I thought it would be. Everything in my career has always been a challenge,” she explained.
Even though it’s not coming together right now, having both of the show’s stars interested in reprising their roles (Tia as Tia Landry and Tamera as Tamera Campbell) is a HUGE step in the right direction.
“We’re moving forward, we’re taking those strides. They’re slow strides, but we’re pushing as hard as we can to make people happy and make our fans happy,” she said.
Here’s to hoping another blast from the past gets a chance to come back and tell us a secondary story that we can add to the 2017 reboot list!
What do you think about a Sister, Sister revival? Would you tune in?
