Happy moments come few and far between on Game of Thrones. That’s probably why fans tend to worry any time one of their favorite characters are at peace.
“You could see it, at the end of season six, he’s thinking, ‘I’m the King of the North and there is a small smile on his face, and I think that season 7 starts with optimism,” teased Harington.
It’s nice to hear that the brooding Jon Snow is happy for once, but we’re treading with caution over Harington saying this coming season “starts with optimism.”
The actor also goes on to explain that just because Jon’s in a good mood, doesn’t mean he’s not in any less danger than he was before. The difference is that this time around, he might have better tools at his disposal to deal with any oncoming threats.
“At least he’s in a place where people will listen to him when he’s warning them, and he can get right down to business,” continued Harington. “And I think the point of sending Mel away at the end of last season was to say, well, she’s not around, so you know he’s in danger, mortal danger, like everyone else.”
We can’t be the only ones fretting for Jon Snow’s safety after reading these latest comments from Harington himself. We’ll be watching with bated breath when season 7 picks back up again and hoping that he pulls through to see the eighth and final season of the series!
Game of Thrones season 7 premieres July 16 on HBO.
