Calling all Selenators, this one’s for you! Selena Gomez sort of has a new album.
The “Bad Liar” singer is all about her fans, which is why she’s constantly sharing her newest projects and honest thoughts about, well, everything. During an interview with Carson Daly on 97.1 AMP Radio, Gomez admitted that she has enough new music for an album, but the songs don’t really work together, which is a problem.
“I’ve been in the studio for a year. So I can technically say I have an album, but I don’t know where I want to go with it because of how different everything sounds,” Gomez told the radio host on Thursday, as reported by Billboard.
The 24-year-old singer went on to explain that she’s been writing every song as if it’s going to standalone, which doesn’t exactly make for an album that flows well.
“I’m not just saying that because I feel like, ‘Oh, that’s exciting!’ Every song I’m setting up to be a single is just completely separate from each other and I love that,” she said. “So, I don’t know where it’s gonna go, but I can say I have an album because it’s a lot of music.”
Okay, we want to hear this so-called album ASAP! Who cares that it’s not one giant story, or doesn’t exactly go together? We don’t care, we just want the music!
When asked if she was intending to release the songs as singles, Gomez quickly shut that down, because her fans deserve more music in one place.
“I appreciate albums. I get it. I know how much music is changing, but you know, I’ve still got my fan base that I want to special things too, music that deserves to be listened to that maybe won’t be on the radio,” Gomez explained. “It will just be for them.”
Leave it to Selena to make an album just so her fans can hear more than what the radio chooses to play of her songs. She is the best!
