Ed Sheeran fans are still playing his newest album, Divide (÷) on repeat, but that doesn’t mean they’re not ready for fresh tracks by his BFFs. Sure, Harry Styles has already released his first solo album, but what about Taylor Swift?

We stumbled upon an interview that the “Shape of You” singer did with BBC  back in March 2017, and he basically revealed that everyone should ready for a BIG holiday surprise from his longtime friend.

“Taylor [Swift] isn’t going to be releasing until probably the end of this year, Sheeran told BBC in March, explaining that December is “the smartest time to release because that’s when everyone buys records.”

Sheeran’s comments are especially noteworthy given the fact that Swift has been taking a break from music this year. In fact, she even confirmed after a performance back in February that she wouldn’t be taking the stage again in 2017. And while Sheeran didn’t say that Swift’s album release was a sure thing, he does know his best friends pretty well, so we’re going to take this hint as a definite tip about when Swift’s next album could be dropping.

Sheeran did listen to Styles’ new album before it dropped in May, and he’s admitted to getting early listens of Swift’s music in the past, so he is definitely in the know when it comes to his friend’s musical releases.

Now, if only Sheeran and Swift were collaborating on this upcoming album. “Everything Has Changed” was released back in 2012 and that’s just too long ago for us.

What do you hope to hear on Swift’s upcoming album? Do you think it’ll drop in December?
