When Selena Gomez releases new music, she goes all out, and we’re totally impressed!
On Monday (June 12), Gomez shared three movie posters on Instagram to announce that she will be releasing a “film” for her newest single, “Bad Liar.”
Yes, you read that right, for the first single off her yet to be named upcoming album, Gomez is releasing a film, which will be directed by Jesse Peretz.
“Wednesday,” the first retro-looking poster read. “Coming soon,” the second image, which was tinted red said. “#BadLiar — a film,” the third Instagram post concluded.
While we’re guessing the film will be more like a music video than an actual feature, Gomez previously unveiled a Spotify exclusive music video clip, so this could simply be an extension of that story. That being said, Gomez has been very cryptic with all things regarding “Bad Liar,” so we wouldn’t be too surprised if a more cinematic short was released with “Bad Liar” playing somewhere within it.
Plus, since Gomez has posted clips of old-school TV sets, with VHS players in them, featuring blank screens, followed by TV’s showing a glimpse of Gomez herself, a full-on film could be just what she’s been hinting at all along.
No matter what the singer has up her sleeves, we’re definitely going to be ready and waiting on Wednesday (June 14th), to see what drops. Here’s hoping it’s a mix between a music video and a mini movie!
What do you think Gomez meant by creating a vintage-looking movie poster? Is she going to unveil a full-length film?
