Talk about a throwback! It turns out Christina Aguilera‘s breakout video for “Genie in a Bottle” low-key featured one of our favorite movie stars!
On Thursday (June 22), Josh Duhamel dropped by Good Morning America to promote his new movie, Transformers: The Last Knight, and while talking with the hosts of the morning show he revealed that his first real job was getting cast in Aguilera’s “Genie in a Bottle” music video, which was released almost 20 years ago. Duhamel explained that his appearance in the video was very brief — like blink-and-you’ll-miss him brief.
“That was it. It’s literally like one second of screen time. We spent all night shooting that and that was my one shot,” the 44-year-old actor said after seeing the clip again.
In the video, Duhamel is wearing a yellow shirt and can be seen jumping over the railing of a house that Aguilera is partying at. He then runs to a car with a group of guys. Yes, that’s it, that is his moment.
“I remember I met Christina for the lead of that, she was in the room, and I’m a nervous kid just getting into the business. She looks me up and down and I go on, and the other guy gets the job,” he recalled.
While Duhamel may not have gotten the lead role — he’s clearly done well for himself, and we have this awesome clip to remember how far he’s come!
