When Descendants 2 premieres next month, fans can expect to watch a journey of self discovery.
Descendants stars Sofia Carson, Dove Cameron and China Anne McClain recently sat down with ABC News and teased what’s to come in the second Descendants films. According to Carson, the second installment will focus on the different struggles faced by each of the characters, and how they ultimately overcome them.
“Part 2 kind of starts where the first one left off,” Carson, who plays as Evie (the Evil Queen’s daughter) told ABC News. “The villain kids are living in Auradon. They’re adapting. Each of us are kind of going through different struggles. Evie is very happy. Mal is miserable trying to be a princess.”
Although Carson’s character is happy, her BFF Mal (Maleficent’s daughter), played by Cameron, is feeling the pressures of being good and having it all.
“Because so, she runs off to the Isle of the Lost. As her best friend, I have to go save her,” Carson continued. “So, I go with the boys and with Prince Ben. We go off on a beautiful adventure of friendship, of love, self discovery, of self love.”
Friendship, love, and life struggles? It sounds like every teen’s life (minus the whole being a villain thing) and we can’t wait to tune in and watch it all unfold.
Descendants 2 premieres on July 21, 2017 on Disney Channel, Disney XD, Freeform, ABC and Lifetime.
